Guhantara is India’s first cave dwellings theme resort. Guhantara literally means - in the heart of the cave and is nested peacefully under the surface of Earth. It is located in Kanakapura near Bangalore, Karnataka.
Guhantara, the underground cave dwellings theme resort is the first of its kind in India. The idea of an ethnic pre-historic themed resort was first conceived 7 years ago and work started 2 years ago after complete planning.
The resort has 20 rooms with unsuited bathrooms and a sit out, each room overlooking a lake that has been created by rain water harvesting, its waters held by a bund. All rooms of this circular resort have an access to the blue skies through the sit outs. A Steam is made to run around the resort adding beauty to the entire setup.
Guhantara bagged the award ‘Best Architectural Project in Bangalore’ for the years 2007-2008 by Accommodation Times Bombay
